Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Biller/Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of medical billing processes, insurance claims, and healthcare regulations in the United States. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial well-being of our practice and the satisfaction of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Prepare and submit accurate electronic and paper insurance claims to various payers, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage to facilitate proper claim submissions.
- Review claims for compliance with coding and billing regulations.
- Assign appropriate ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS codes to medical procedures and diagnoses, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure complete and compliant medical documentation.
- Address coding and documentation discrepancies and provide necessary feedback to providers.
- Generate and send patient invoices for services, co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
- Process payments, post them accurately to patient accounts, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Proactively communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances and establish payment arrangements when needed.
- Maintain up-to-date patient insurance information and make necessary updates.
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve issues, appeals, and denials.
- Monitor and diligently follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and identify trends, concerns, and areas for improvement.
- Submit appeals for denied claims and actively follow up on unpaid accounts.
- Maintain organized billing records and generate accurate financial reports.
- Stay current with healthcare billing regulations and compliance standards in the United States, including HIPAA, ICD-10, and CPT coding updates.
- Ensure that billing practices adhere to all federal and state regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients by addressing billing and insurance inquiries, concerns, and disputes.
- Maintain effective communication with patients and their families while resolving billing issues

Qualifications:
- A graduate of any Degree (Nursing/Healthcare degree is a plus)
- Minimum of at least 1-2 years in Medical Billing & Coding with Strong emphasis on US Healthcare practices.
- Familiarity with EHR and Healthcare Billing Softwares used in the US.
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Able to support a Work from Home setup
- Own PC/laptop (Minimum of i3 processor, 4 gig RAM)
- Internet speed no lower than 10 Mbps download, 10 Mbps upload
- Can work graveyard shifts.
- Being tech savvy is a plus
