Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Wireless PIM Tester to support site initiatives across Washington D.C./Maryland/Virginia and the Arkansas/Oklahoma regions. This role involves performing passive intermodulation (PIM) and sweep testing at a variety of site types—rooftops, buildings, side mounts, billboards, and shelters. The ideal candidate is highly organized, safety-conscious, and experienced with RF test equipment and remote site access procedures.
Site Environment Includes:
- Washington D.C. Metro Area: Rooftop, building-side mounts, urban office buildings with penthouse shelters, and secured properties with after-hours protocols.
- Arkansas/Oklahoma Market: Rooftops, billboards, and shelter-mounted equipment, including restricted weekday-only access for some locations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform PIM and line sweep testing at LTE and mixed-mode cell sites using industry-standard test equipment (e.g., Kaelus, Anritsu).
- Accurately test antennas, feeders, connectors, and jumpers for PIM faults and VSWR anomalies.
- Coordinate access to secure and commercial sites, including high-rise rooftops, side-mounts, and restricted-access buildings.
- Follow site-specific access protocols including key codes, badge access, contact with property managers, and after-hours procedures.
- Document and report test results, site observations, and corrective actions.
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards while working on active RF infrastructure.
- Travel frequently across assigned regions to complete testing on scheduled pilot sites.
- Communicate with site managers, building engineers, and real estate contacts to ensure successful site entry and test execution.
Requirements:
- 1–3 years of experience in RF field testing or telecommunications.
- Familiarity with PIM and line sweep testing procedures and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret test plans, RF schematics, and site documentation.
- Experience with LTE or 5G installations and DAS environments.
- Ability to follow strict access instructions including keycode entry, lockbox procedures, and working with real estate contacts.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 10/30, RF Awareness, or Tower Climbing Certification (e.g., ComTrain).
- Experience supporting AT&T, Ericsson or Nokia wireless infrastructure.
- Familiarity with AT&T’s AOTS-M or Traccess site documentation.
- Basic knowledge of Ericsson/Nokia equipment and cell site components.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs of testing equipment.
- Capable of working at heights, on rooftops, and in enclosed spaces.
- Willing to work outdoors in variable weather conditions.
- Comfortable navigating complex building access and elevator systems.
Work Schedule & Travel:
- Full-time field-based role with frequent regional travel.
- Access windows may include early mornings, nights, or weekends depending on site availability.
- Some site visits are restricted to business hours; others offer 24/7 access via security coordination.
